The 500 miles were well worth it and we have had a great weekend playing to very appreciative audiences in Ipswich and Letchworth Garden City. Ipswich Waterfront have been very kind in their review of the evening - we've quoted it below here if you would like to read further. Thanks to everyone who has pre-ordered our album (officially released tomorrow!) - let us know when you get yours. Why not post a picture of you with it on here or over on our Facebook page ?! |
Brian Dales and Jon Chamberlain are the talented duo who entertained a packed Ste Peter’s by the Waterfront yesterday evening. The Heritage Centre and restored medieval church provided the perfect acoustic setting for this fantastic performance and the music filled the room beautifully.
The voice of Brian Dales bears a remarkable resemblance to that of James Taylor, and his performance was pitch perfect, respectful of the original performer, and at times the audience were lost in the sounds of a time gone by, such that momentarily you could be forgiven for thinking that James Taylor was right here.
Brian Dales vocal prowess was matched by his skill on the guitar, and the performance was complimented by the accompaniment of Jon Chamberlain on keyboard. Their style and partnership showed a richness and quality, and this duo deserve respect as performers in their own right for their talent and skill is delightful.
Establishing a rapport with the audience at the start of the evening Dales and Chamberlain ensured that we were treated to a wealth of James Taylor’s music, from the well known tracks of You’ve Got A Friend, Carolina In My Mind and Mean Old Man to some less known, but nonetheless, impressive songs.
